Fly Fishing, Country Sports and Gourmet Food......

50 Years of Family Management.

The Hotel has been owned and run since 1961 by the Fox-Edwards family.

Anne and Gerald Fox-Edwards took over the hotel 50 years ago and it has been serving guests ever since.  Sadly Gerald died in 1973 and Anne Voss-Bark (as she became following her marriage to Conrad) ran the hotel until 2008 when she was succeeded by her son Adam.  A former winner of the Woman Hotelier of the Year, Anne was honoured in 1994 receiving the M.B.E for services to tourism.  In 2006 she celebrated the prestigious award presented from the Good Hotel Guide of "Sporting Hotel of the Year ".  Her book "West Country Fly Fishing" a collection of essays by experts and friends including Ted Hughes, Dermot Wilson, Brian Clarke and her late husband Conrad Voss-Bark, is considered a classic.

The past 50 years have been a period of warm welcomes and consistent high quality service to our guests.  Whilst strong on traditional values and service, the hotel has never stood still and there have been a constant stream of improvements to the hotel.

The hotel is now run by Adam and Tina Fox-Edwards who have maintained the ethos of the hotel whilst continuing to develop it.

Master Chef of Great Britain

The kitchen is led by Master Chef of Great Britain, Steven Pidgeon supported by a talented and enthusiastic young team.  Choose to dine at any of the 3 restaurants we have at the Arundell Arms and you will discover food that's amongst the best in England.  Seasonality, outstanding local produce and creativity are all high on the agenda on all our menu options.  Fine-dining, Brassiere style or hearty pub-classics, find delicious food to suit every occasion from different restaurant areas at the Arundell Arms.  All use fresh produce from local suppliers.  We are proud to have held our 2 AA Rosettes consistently for 20 years.

A Solid Reputation for Expertise in Fishing

The Arundell Arms fishing is looked after by David Pilkington and Tim Smith who are not only outstanding fishermen but have taught thousands of men and women, boys and girls to fish.

Proud of our Team

We are particularly proud that many of our staff have been with us for many years.  We have 2 mothers and daughters with us and one grandmother, mother and daughter.  This all helps to ensure that you will receive a real family welcome when you visit the hotel.  Our greatest pleasure is when our guests return.
