Introducing Sunday lunches @ The Kitchen
Get together for a proper Sunday lunch at The Donkey Sanctuary where the view will whet your appetite. Our tranquil new restaurant, The Kitchen will begin Sunday roasts from 8 October, with a unique take that will see family-style service replicated from your kitchen to theirs.
On offer will be Devon’s finest cuts of meat or a vegetarian/vegan special served from sharing boards, accompanied with bowls of succulent vegetables and oodles of scrumptious trimmings to help yourself to. If you’ve room after enjoying this lot, there will also be a classic pudding of the day to share – with plenty to go around. So enjoy a hearty lunch while enjoying one of the finest views in Devon, over the rolling hills down to the sea.
As well as visiting the restaurant for Sunday lunch, visitors to the Sanctuary in Sidmouth can enjoy meeting some of the hundreds of donkeys that are just waiting to say hello. There is also the new Understanding Donkeys Zone and Dr Svendsen’s Hut to explore and don’t forget the Maze, looking resplendent in its autumn colours. Plenty of opportunities to exercise after all that lovely food!
Pre-booking for Sunday lunch is essential and there will be a limited amount of spaces each week, so early booking is recommended. To book, please call The Kitchen on 01395 514996. Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a lead.
The Kitchen is located just off the A3052 east of Sidmouth and there is ample free parking as well as a number of accessible parking spaces for disabled visitors. All profits support the charity’s objectives to support donkey welfare worldwide.
