The ushering in of Autumn also sees the arrival of Boringdon Hall’s latest speciality afternoon tea, which encourages guests to share, luxuriate and indulge in yet another spectacular twist on the classic English treat.  For three AA rosettes Head Chef Scott Paton and his team have created the ultimate decadent Devon ‘Savoury Afternoon Tea’, perfectly balanced and ready for serving within Boringdon’s stunning Great Hall or out on the lawn, under the September sun, when the weather allows.

Following the English tradition set by Anna, the Seventh Duchess of Bedford, the five star Boringdon Hall Hotel has become famed for its ever-changing menu of seasonal, themed afternoon teas.  And to ensure there truly is an option for everyone, the new autumn savoury high rise platter will ensure that those without a sweet tooth do not have to miss out on this quintessential luxury.

Filling and satisfying with every bite, signifying the change of seasons with tasty ingredients, all locally sourced wherever possible, Scott Paton’s savoury delight includes a crab biscuit sandwich, a paprika and parmesan palmier, a sweetcorn and chorizo muffin and a leek and onion tart. Nestling alongside traditional finger sandwiches, including ham and cucumber, is a Mediterranean vegetable tart, a smoked salmon blini and Coronation chicken vol au vont - all served with an extensive assortment of English Teas.
