Barbara King, The Shops at Dartington. Chair

With many years’ experience and several directorships with major retail companies, Barbara relocated to Devon as

Managing Director of The Shops at Dartington and has developed a popular extensive Food Shop with an emphasis

on Devon produce in addition to establishing the annual Food Fair at Dartington every May. Passionate about local

produce she has been a director of Food Drink Devon since 2012 and became Chair in 2016.

Michael Young. Vice Chair

Mike is a partner at Peplows Accountants and head of their Corporate Service Department. He has detailed knowledge

of a wide variety of sectors and a particular expertise in corporate finance. Mike attends our board meetings and keeps

a close eye on the FDD finances to make sure money is spent wisely for our members benefit.

Chris Jones. Board Director

Chris, General Manager of Exeter Golf & Country Club, brings a wealth of hospitality and leisure experience from some

of Devon's premier hotels and country clubs and is passionate about consistently delivering excellence throughout his business. 

He was delighted to join Exeter Golf and Country Club in 2013 and his promise to the 5000 members was to use his 20 years

of hospitality management experience to help make improvements from day one.  He also managed at two of the largest four star

hotels in Torquay and spent 13 years in Dartmouth managing the Royal Castle Hotel and the Dart Marina Hotel and Spa. Many of

his proudest achievements came at the Dart Marina, overseeing a full refurbishment, being awarded a fourth AA star for the hotel,

achieving two AA rosettes for his restaurant, purchasing the Floating Bridge Inn and the opening of Wildfire Bistro.  Chris has sat

on the Board for over seven years whilst managing the Dart Marina Hotel in Dartmouth, the Grand Hotel in Torquay and

Exeter Golf and Country Club.

Mark Bury. Board Director

Mark, of Eversifield Organic, farms 400 acres near Okehampton and is proud of his Native heard of Aberdeen Angus cattle and

Poll Dorset sheep. The farm is the home of Eversfield Organic Ltd which provides the highest quality Organic fresh produce to

the home kitchen through its national box scheme as well as retailers such as Ocado, Waitrose and Wholefood market.  Mark joined

the FDD board in November 2013 and has a keen interest in helping to promote Devon businesses as well as promoting Devon to

the rest of the country.

Tom Chartres-Moore. Board Director

Tom attends the Food Drink Devon Board Meetings as a representative of Stephens Scown LLP, with a view to assisting

with and advising on any matters of a legal nature that arise and has been on the Board of Directors since 2016..    

Tom Chartres-Moore  is an Intellectual Property Specialist at Stephens Scown with particular specialism of working with

businesses in the Food and Drink sector, particularly in the field of brand protection and exploitation. 

Stephens Scown are longstanding supporters of the Food and Drink sector in the South West and are very pleased to

be able to support Food Drink Devon wherever possible.

Annette Hunt, Board Director

Annette studied Food Production with Marketing & Management at Harper Adams before heading to Tesco Head Office to

undertake a marketing role within Chilled Convenience. Having spent four years working in sales and marketing at Samworth

Brothers before returning to the family business of Hunt's Cider she has a skill set of retail and manufacturing on both large

and small scale.

David Page MBE. Board Director

David has very recently joined the Board of FDD having relocated to East Devon some 2 years ago.  David has nearly 30

years experience within food manufacturing having progressed via HR and Operational Management to become Managing

Director for Campbell Soups, Patak's Indian Foods, Jamie Oliver's Retail Ventures and S&A Foods.  He currently undertakes

Non Executive Director and Strategic Advisory roles within a number of family owned, private companies.  David is keen to help

and support local businesses who are growth orientated and have a real desire to succeed.  His background in building and

growing nationally and internationally recognised brands aligned with first hand experience of own label requirements will,

hopefully, be relevant to FDD members.

Hayley Reynolds, Board Director

Hayley Reynolds is founder and director of RAW Food and Drink PR and co-director of South West Wine School with

her husband Jonathan. Hayley has over 20 years PR experience, a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Diploma and

a huge interest in locally produced food.

Simon Bryon-Edmond, Board Director

Food is pretty well all I have done, Big fan of Great local food scenes and travel the UK to dig out gems. I love my, sailing, windsurfing and mountain-biking… but obsessed in making great pies

and pasties. I am intensely involved in the manufacturing and sales process… Our little business Chunk has been going 14 years, employs 40 hunks and hunkettes, supplying tons of   

local accounts including Chiefs and Bath Rugby. We are also proud to export Chunk and the glorious Devon Province all over the UK via mail order and even supply Wimbledon and Wembley!

Ali Neagle, Office Manager

Ali has a background in the Financial Industry having worked in the Banking World for over 20 years with her last job

there being a successful Regional Business Risk Manager. She joined Food Drink Devon in 2014 and is responsible for

all the administration work and organising the annual Awards. She will be your first point of contact by email and phone.

Hanna China. Events Organiser & Social Media

Working with a range of leading South West producers to provide a mix of PR, marketing and design support, Hanna is

passionate about all things food and drink. With first-hand experience within the hospitality industry, after completing a

Graphic Communication degree at Plymouth University she worked as a freelance Graphic Designer in Sydney whilst travelling.

Upon settling back in the UK, she has worked with a number of brands and agencies including RAW PR, experts in food & drink PR,

whose clients include Luscombe Drinks, Salcombe Gin and Warrens Bakery. With experience in both traditional PR, social media,

design and events, Hanna continues to grow her knowledge and passion for the industry working alongside the Food Drink Devon team.


Kath Hope. Newsletters

Kath focuses entirely on Food Drink Devon's two monthly newsletters, one to our members and one to a wide consumer audience. 

She also works freelance for RAW food and drink PR.

The board meets on the second Tuesday of every month. All board members give their time voluntarily to support Food Drink Devon. They pay their membership and pay for any advertisements they take out in the guide.
