Àclèaf Restaurant Now Open at Boringdon Hall
South-West chef Scott Paton has opened Àclèaf, a British restaurant in Devon’s historic country hotel and spa, Boringdon Hall. Taking over the former Gallery Restaurant space, the 40-cover restaurant takes guests on a culinary journey, led by the abundance of produce available in Devon and matched with Scott Paton’s remarkable talent.
From the four-course Table d’hôte Menu to the six-course Tasting Menu, each dish contains few ingredients but delivers on intense flavour and is the driving force behind the dining experience as Scott and the team look to shine light on bounties of excellent produce, cooked simply.
Starters of CRAB, curry, lime; LOBSTER, citrus, carrot and BIRDS LIVER, px, brioche set the tone for the evening, before a second course including OYSTER, spaghetti, caviar; QUAIL, turnip, yolk and SOLE, clams, sea herbs. This is followed by options of BEEF, beetroot, pepper; RABBIT, chestnut, smoked bacon; and TURBOT, mushroom, fennel. The dessert offering features CRANBERRY, spices, apple; VANILLA, white chocolate, pear and CHOCOLATE, illanka, dried Muscat. An optional cheese course is also available. Those looking for a vegan or vegetarian alternative, Scott has ensured guests are aptly catered for with a carefully curated four-course Table d’hôte Menu and six-course Tasting Menu.
With many accolades to his name including a Caterer Acorn Award and winning Best Chef at the Food Magazine Reader Awards, this latest venture sees him showcase his skills alongside his passion for South West produce.

A well-considered wine list ensures each choice provides the perfect accompaniment to the dining experience. A selection of Old and New World wines is complimented by Local Heroes and a hand-selected wine flight can be added to the tasting menu.
Designed by Gayle Nettleton, the Àclèaf dining space takes inspiration from the grandeur and history of the property’s main house, whilst connecting it to the abundance of oak trees, open lawns and nearby Dartmoor tors. Statement light pieces create intimacy throughout the space, whilst natural tones tie in with the restaurant’s surrounds and large leather chairs allow for guests to ease into the dining experience.
Àclèaf is open Wednesday to Sunday for dinner, offering a four-course Table d’hôte Menu (£80) and six-course Tasting Menu (£95) with vegan and vegetarian menus available too as well as paired wine flights (£45). Bookings available via firstname.lastname@example.org.
