The Fish Deli Cookery Book to launch at Ashburton Food Fair
New cookbook inspired by the seafood of Devon and Cornwall will launch at the Ashburton Food Fair on Saturday 8th September.
A couple who own a renowned delicatessen in Devon have written a new cookbook of delicious recipes inspired by the rich and abundant seafood from the coastal waters of Devon and Cornwall. Four Seasons at the Fish Deli is a refreshing change from the big publisher or ghost written, cook books. This cook book has been individually created by husband and wife, Michele and Nick Legg, and richly illustrated by young artist Alice Cleary, fashioning a more artisan style of book.
Michele and Nick opened the Fish Deli in the small market town of Ashburton on the edge of Dartmoor, a stone's throw from the fishing ports and rich seas of Devon and Cornwall in 2004. The book takes the reader on a journey through the seasons, explaining when different species of local fish and shellfish are in their prime and most sustainable to eat. They share with the reader recipes from their award-winning deli influenced by travel, friends and family.
Foreword by Nick Evans, bestselling writer and author of The Horse Whisperer (and one of the Fish Deli's loyal customers).
"Nick and Michele and their wonderful illustrator Alice Cleary have produced this beautiful book. It's a fitting treasure for a treasure of a shop and the lovely people who run it".
