Inner Hope, Kingsbridge, TQ7 3HH

Hope Cove is divided into two parts. Inner Hope and Outer Hope. There are three beaches, a pub, post office and a great bar – The Cove Cafe.

The village is nestled between Salcombe to the East and Thurlestone to the West.  The hotel is overlooking the bay in Inner Hope.

On a quiet day the sea is millpond calm and crystal clear, perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkelling. Sailing, fishing trips and day boats can be arranged in Salcombe. Bantham is excellent for surfing and kite boarding. Dave and the team at Trioceansurf can organise a board for you. In the right conditions there will be a lovely swell in our bay and you can surf with the local seals.

If you are a keen walker or runner the coastal path in either direction offers beautiful trails -Salcombe is about 3 hours walk, Thurlestone 45 minutes.

GPS can lead you astray in the narrow lanes. We find the best route coming from the East on the A38 is to take the Ugborough/Ermington junction, marked Plymouth Park and Ride. Follow the road to Ermington, take the left after Ermington to Modbury. Continue through Modbury to Aveton Gifford and then follow the road to Malborough you will pass junctions to Thurlestone and South Milton and then take a right turn onto the Kingsbridge Malborough road. Over a hill you will come to a junction to South Huish and immediately after to Galmpton/ Hope Cove, follow this road to Hope Cove. As you enter Hope Cove you will come to a junction to the left marked Inner Hope, take this road and follow it round over the hill past the Cottage Hotel. We are after the bend opposite the carpark. Totnes is the nearest mainline train station and is a 40 minute drive. Let us know if you would like a taxi to meet you.
