Packed with traditional character and a laid back vibe unwind in whatever way takes your fancy. The two beautiful lounges are perfect for a game of afternoon chess and a cream tea or book some pre-dinner spa time either in the pool or with one of the therapists.

The Ilsington has one of the most acclaimed restaurants in South Devon. The proud holder of two AA rosettes it offers the perfect balance between traditional classics and comforting Modern English cooking served with sweeping views up towards Haytor. Alternatively try our onsite bistro or large sun terrace for a light and lazy lunch. Conveniently located within the hotel offering an informal style of dining and drinking area and combines rustic charm with contemporary touches. It offers a simpler menu served all day and a more relaxed atmosphere than our main restaurant. Pop in for a restorative morning coffee, enjoy a light snack on the large sun terrace or invite friends over to supper. Traditional Devonshire cream teas with homemade scones can be taken inside or enjoyed on the lawn.

Fresh local produce inspires a diverse and regularly changing restaurant menu. Cheese is all from the West Country (Vulscombe, Quickes & Sharpham are favourites) and free-range eggs are laid on site. Carnivores are well catered for with lamb, beef and pork born and bred on the moor, fish is from the day boats at Brixham and travels no distance at all. Head Chef Mike O'Donnell has been at the helm since 1998 and has consistently developed his food as trends have changed. Whether foraging for ingredients around the hotel grounds or collecting eggs from the hotel's hens he is keen to make the most of Dartmoor's larder

The restaurant is open from 6.30pm to 9pm 7 days a week and for Sunday lunch between 12pm and 2pm. Our bistro serves food from 12pm to 9pm. The Hotel has 25 bedrooms and luxury Spa, is included in the Good Hotel Guide and has gained numerous awards including Silver stars from the AA, 2 rosettes for cooking and Devon Spa of the Year.

Directions:
Situated within the Dartmoor National Park. Ilsington is four miles from the A38, which is a continuation of the M5,. Shortly after Exeter the road divides, take the right hand fork in the direction of Plymouth and after about twelve miles take the exit indicating Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead. This is the same exit to take if travelling in the opposite direction from Plymouth. Take the third turning off the roundabout (first turning if coming from Plymouth) towards Liverton and Ilsington, then turn first right to Liverton and Ilsington. Follow the road for approximately 4 miles to the village of Ilsington. Go past the village sign at the top of the hill and carry on along the road for 500 metres. The hotel is located on your right hand side. We strongly recommend that you DO NOT use satellite navigation systems after leaving the A38 as they tend to take you the most direct route through very narrow lanes. The hotel is also on an unmarked road which can lead to mistakes. Please trust our directions!
