Swap to Organic this September with Owens Coffee
Organic September is an awareness campaign run by the Soil Association to promote the benefits of organic food and farming, which include supporting biodiversity and wildlife.
Owens Coffee’s range is 100% certified organic (and Fairtrade) since 2010.
Coffee is the second biggest commodity in the world and Owens’ founder Lorraine Bridden believes that with such a significant global impact, coffee producers have a huge role to play in ensuring the effects of coffee farming and production are as positive as they can be. “It is estimated that 95 million cups of coffee are drunk in the UK every day.” says Lorraine, “To get coffee into those cups, there is a process which can have a lasting impact on coffee farmers, their families and communities, the planet and its wildlife, and the coffee drinker themselves. Organic September is a great time to try something different and to commit to the benefits that organic food and farming can provide. We want to help spread that message!”.
Soil Association’s Best Organic Coffee 2019
Owens’ Discovery Packs are a great way to try out three different blends of coffee from the Ivybridge-based roastery, to save money and find a favourite. The packs are available as a choice between one that’s recommended for filter coffee makers and one for espresso machines. Both packs offer at least one award-winning coffee, which includes house blend Gara, national winner of the ‘Best Organic Coffee’ award 2019 at none other than the Soil Association’s Boom Awards.
Lorraine says “The Owens’ team is committed to improving sustainability. If sustainability is important to you too, Organic September is a great opportunity to swap to an organic version of your favourite products. That will include coffee for many people!”.
