Rusty Pig is all about local – sourcing, flavours and people. Owner Robin Rea grew up in Ottery St Mary; after learning about seasonal ingredients and provenance overseas and at River Cottage, he returned to open Rusty Pig in 2011.
The venture is rooted in Robin’s vision for a sustainable, ethical model supporting local producers and farmers, exploiting the best seasonal ingredients and reducing food waste.
A dining experience at Rusty Pig is like none other. There’s no standard menu, but all ingredients are seasonal and fabulously fresh. Your chef will explain the provenance of ingredients during your meal.
Downstairs is sociable, communal dining and noisy interaction with the chefs in our open kitchen. Perch at the bar for a sassy craft gin or a pint of real ale.
Upstairs dining offers individual tables for dinner guests. You can book out the whole room out if you fancy a party (we’ll probably start partying with you).
Our alfresco dining area offers views over the rooftops to Ottery’s famous church. On a warm summer evening this is the perfect place to sit and sip one of Agata’s hedgerow cocktails.
We ask diners to advise us of any dietary requirements when booking – vegetarians are welcome.
