Rich, velvety and smooth, ‘The Bar’ is named after Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s poem ‘Crossing the Bar’, which is believed to have been inspired by Salcombe Bar - a sandbar just off the coast of the seaside town.  The delicious chocolate is made with passion at Salcombe Dairy’s South Devon premises.  Organic cacao is sourced from the Peruvian rainforest and brought back to Devon where melange, conching, tempering and finally moulding all occur.  During processing only the best local ingredients are added to create the outstanding chocolate, with each dark chocolate bar having a minimum cocoa content of 70 per cent.

Salcombe Dairy has been proudly producing scrumptious ice cream since 1981 using local cream and the finest ingredients to create some of Great Taste’s Top 50 products.  Their ice creams, sorbets and frozen yoghurts are all natural, egg and gluten free and their sorbets are also suitable for vegans.
