Perfect Christmas Gifts for Chocolate Aficionados

Expertly crafting organic cacao from the Peruvian rainforest with the finest Devon ingredients, Salcombe Dairy’s ‘The Bar’ range of 15 exquisite bean-to-bar chocolates are perfect gifts and stocking fillers for Christmas.  ‘The Bar’ dark, milk and white chocolates are available to purchase online at www.salcombedairy.co.uk and from their ice cream parlour in beautiful Dartmouth and factory shop near the harbour in Salcombe.  RRP £4.95 each for 80g.

There is a fantastic range of irresistible flavours of hand moulded bean-to-bar chocolate, all made from organic, fairly-traded Peruvian cacao nibs.  A superb gift for both milk and dark chocolate lovers, Evening Star (RRP £4.95) is Salcombe Dairy’s newest release.  Rich, velvety and smooth, Evening Star is a delicate milk chocolate but with stronger darker flavours than a standard milk chocolate.

'The Bar' Midnight (RRP £4.95) is Salcombe Dairy’s darkest chocolate yet and perfect for those who seek an intense chocolate with a maximum, unadulterated cacao flavour burst.  Containing 85% organic Peruvian cacao nibs, its strong rainforest flavours make it the perfect gift for those seeking a deeper and darker, dark chocolate.

Other melt in the mouth flavours include Dark Chocolate, Dark Chocolate Ginger, Dark Chocolate Mango, Dark Chocolate with Cacao Nibs, Dark Chocolate with Peppermint, Dark Chocolate with Salcombe Gin, Sloe & Juniper, Evening Star with Coffee, Milk Chocolate, Milk Chocolate Caramel & Devon Sea Salt, Milk Chocolate Honeycomb, Milk Chocolate Orange, White Chocolate Raspberry and White Chocolate Vanilla.

If you’re struggling to pick from Salcombe Dairy’s 15 beautiful flavours, the Five Bar Gift Box (RRP £20) is the perfect present.  Treat someone you love to a selection of the ever-expanding range, simply choose five flavours online at www.salcombedairy.co.uk and they’ll be delivered in a striking gift box direct to your or your recipient’s door.

‘The Bar’ is named after Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s poem ‘Crossing the Bar’, which is believed to have been inspired by Salcombe Bar - a sandbar just off the coast of the seaside town.  The newly launched Evening Star is also named after Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s mention of evening star in the poem.

The delicious chocolate is made with passion at Salcombe Dairy’s South Devon premises.  Organic cacao is sourced from the Peruvian rainforest and brought back to Devon where melange, conching, tempering and finally moulding all occur.  During processing only the best local ingredients are added to create the outstanding chocolate, with each dark chocolate bar having a minimum cocoa content of 70 per cent.

Salcombe Dairy has been proudly producing scrumptious ice cream since 1979 using local cream and the finest ingredients to create some of Great Taste’s Top 50 products.  Their ice creams, sorbets and frozen yoghurts are all natural, egg and gluten free and their sorbets are also suitable for vegans.
