Results of the Guess the Wine Competition

Thank you to all those who visited our stand at the Source Trade Show and entered the Food Drink Devon ‘Guess the Wine’ Competition' run in conjunction with South West Wine School.  A big thank you to Lily Farm Vineyard, Lyme Bay Winery and Swanaford Vineyard who kindly donated the wines and prizes.

The wines were:-

Wine No 1 - Lily Farm Vineyard’s Bacchus. Their hand picked Bacchus grapes make a wine that is dry in style with intense floral and passion fruit aromas. Tropical fruits, apricot and nectarine bursting forth on the palate leading to a satisfying lingering finish.

Wine No 2 - Lyme Bay Winery’s Chardonnay.  A well-rounded dry wine, pale gold in appearance with subtle buttery flavours and aromas of peach turnover and honey. Lightly oaked with a good length and elegance with a round mouthfeel, this wine lends itself perfectly to many different cuisines.

Wine No 3 - Swanaford Vineyard’s Estate White.  This is a crisp, fresh and fruity wine that is aromatic and dry. Made from a blend of Siegerrebe and Schonberger grapes, it has hints of lychee, passion fruit and peaches and is an excellent wine to drink with seafood, lightly spiced dished or on its own.

If you are interested in purchasing or stocking any of these delicious Devon wines or having a tour please contact the Vineyards directly.
