Teignmouth Farmers’ Market Celebrates its Return with a Cream Tea Special
The Teignmouth Farmers’ Market is returning to its usual last Saturday of the month this Saturday 27 June between 10 am and 2 pm. After weeks of preparation and with covid restrictions in place the farmers can’t wait to welcome customers back to the town centre Triangle.
With National Cream Tea Day on 26 June they will be celebrating with a Farmers’ Market Cream Tea produced by three artisan stallholders working together: Richard and Rachel from Curworthy Cheese will bring their extra special clotted cream prepacked into individual servings. Linda from Red Earth is baking her fluffy scones at the last minute to make sure they are really fresh. Meanwhile Lori at Shute Fruit and Produce has put her award winning strawberry jam into small pots perfect for a single generous serving. Carry this home for a very reasonable £5.00. To make sure you get yours preorder it via Curworthy Cheese Facebook page until noon on Friday, 26 June.
For those with a sweet tooth the icing on the cake comes from Hils of Hat a Cakes bakery. Add a slice of cake or a tray bake for an ending flourish (price varies). Perhaps you are a fan of the Thunder and Lightning version? Vic of Flora’s Honey offers both runny and set or creamed honey for your delectation (price varies with size).
Then all you need is a perfect cup of tea. Dust off Auntie Maisie’s floral tea set. Dig out the tea strainer for your best loose leaf tea and make it in a pot. Who says lockdown can’t be delicious? It’s down right Devonly.
